Monitoring of nuclear tests
In order to fulfill the international obligations of Ukraine to monitor the treaty banning nuclear tests, MCSM continuously monitors by national technical means, which are included to the International Monitoring System (IMS).
IMS is the technical basis of the verification regime of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. It includes seismic, radionuclide, hydroacoustic, infrasound and radionuclide stations and laboratories located in more than 90 countries around the world. Basic technology of IMS is seismic stations network.
